Welcome to Split Rock Cedar Ranch
While touring the ranch, you’ll come across a striking sight—a large rock split at the bottom, perfectly perched in the V of a cedar tree. When the original owners first discovered this unique landmark on their 200-acre piece of rocky, hilly land in Palo Pinto County, Texas, they knew instantly what to call their new home: Split Rock Cedar Ranch.
Over the next 15+ years, they poured their hearts into clearing the land and building an incredible home, barns, and facilities—everything needed to pursue their passion for raising Texas Longhorn cattle.
On July 19, 2024, the ranch changed hands, along with a small, beautiful herd of well-bred Longhorns. After walking the land, taking in the spectacular views, hearing stories of the cattle and the history of the ranch—and seeing that same rock still resting in the cedar—the new owners knew the name had to stay: Split Rock Cedar Ranch.
Our love for Texas Longhorn cattle began about five years ago, and we’ve spent countless hours researching bloodlines, asking questions, and learning from others in the industry. Today, we’re committed to breeding total package cattle—animals with sound conformation, excellent maternal instincts, eye-catching color, and above-average horn growth. Our focus is quality over quantity, and we’re proud to share the foundation cows, promising heifers, and influential bulls that make up our herd.
The ranch itself offers incredible views and diverse terrain that we love exploring with guests. We’ll continue adding new photos to our gallery to share the beauty of both the land and the cattle.
We hope you enjoy browsing our site and getting to know our herd. Visitors are always welcome—we love talking Longhorns!
